Coleman Wong, Hong Kong’s tennis ace, saw his ATP Shanghai Challenger journey come to an end on Saturday after a straight-set loss to Japan’s Sho Shimabukuro in the semifinals. Coleman, currently ranked 149th, had displayed strong form throughout the tournament, securing wins over Egor Gerasimov, Ryan Peniston, and Beibit Zhukayev.
In the semifinal clash, Coleman started slowly, losing his serve early in the first set and ultimately dropping it 3-6. He fought back in the second set, but after a hard-fought battle, he fell in the tiebreak 6-7 (2-7), missing out on a spot in the final.
Despite the loss, Coleman’s performance throughout the tournament showcased his growing potential on the ATP Challenger circuit.
