In a heart-stopping finish, Great Britainโ€™s Lauren Rowles and Gregg Stevenson captured gold in the mixed doubles sculls at the Paris Paralympics. The British pair trailed Chinaโ€™s Lius Shuang and Jijan Jiang for much of the 2,000-meter race but unleashed a stunning final push to win in 8:20.97, securing Britainโ€™s third consecutive gold in this division.

Despite their strong start, the Chinese duo were overtaken in the final moments, finishing 2.48 seconds behind the victorious British team. This triumph adds another gold to Rowlesโ€™ collection, making it her third Paralympic gold after her previous successes in Tokyo and Rio.

The victory also complemented Ben Pritchardโ€™s gold in the PR1 menโ€™s singles sculls earlier in the day. Pritchard, who was trailing Italy’s Giacomo Perini for most of the race, surged ahead in the last 500 meters to finish in 9:03.84, marking a significant win for Britain since their last gold in the event in 2008.

Additionally, Annie Caddick and Sam Murray earned silver in the mixed double sculls PR3, narrowly defeating Germany by a slim 0.12-second margin in a gripping final sprint.
