In a historic moment at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem shattered a 16-year-old Olympic record in the menโs javelin final, securing the gold medal and claiming his place as the new javelin king. Nadeemโs incredible second throw of 92.97 meters not only set a new Olympic record but also earned Pakistan its first-ever Olympic gold in athletics.
Nadeemโs final throw was another impressive 91.79 meters, cementing his dominance in the event. The 27-year-old was the only competitor to surpass the 90-meter mark twice, making his victory well-deserved.
Indiaโs Neeraj Chopra, the defending Olympic champion, also delivered an excellent performance. His second throw of 89.45 meters, his best of the season, earned him the silver medal. Notably, this yearโs javelin competition saw both gold and silver medals go to Asian athletes, breaking the usual dominance of European and American competitors in this event.
Grenadaโs Anderson Peters claimed the bronze medal with a throw of 88.54 meters.
